Private lessons are a very important part of a music students development. 98% of the students who make the All Region Band (ie. the best players in the area) take private lessons on a weekly basis. We at North Garland High School encourage every student in the program to maintain a regular practice routine and also to further their skills by studying with a qualified private teacher. All private instructors in the GISD are professional musicians who have been screened by GISD. They are held to the same exacting standards as the classroom teacher. Lessons are $14.50 per lesson and students pay the private teacher directly. Lessons are taught in the practice rooms during band class or after school.
